Manage Files in Windows Vista
— Find, Open, Print, Delete

FIND

To find the file you downloaded previously (Folder_1_S07.doc):

  1. Click the Windows Start button; in the Start Search box, begin typing the name of the downloaded file (Folder_1_S07.doc).
  2. As you type, a list under Files will display, and the desired file should display.

OPEN - PRINT - DELETE

  1. When you see the desired document appear, right-click it, and note the choices of Open, Print, Copy, Delete, etc.
  2. Click Open to open, Print to print or Delete to delete.
  3. Click the Windows Start button, in the Start Search box, type GDPDATA. This is the default directory name where your data files are stored.

OPEN

  1. When the directory is found, click the icon for GDPDATA to open the folder. Notice the *.DRP files and the *.doc or *.docx Word file(s). Occasionally, students have to attach these files to an email to troubleshoot a problem.
  2. Close the Search Results window.
  3. Right-click the Windows Start button and click Explore; in the Folders panel, browse to the GDPDATA directory and open it; click the Close button.
