If you have not already done so, remember to make an appointment to come in this week to take the Unit 6 Test. Bring your books with you.
The deadline to resubmit all proofreading check documents, assigned documents, and document processing tests is the end of class on Sunday of this week—NO EXCEPTIONS!!

The best way to improve your grade is to work on skillbuilding to increase your speed and accuracy. Then repeat any practice tests with low grades, and recreate any proofreading check documents to earn back lost proofreading points. Take this warning very seriously. It could make the difference between a pass and a fail for some of you.

Any late tests remaining must be completed by Friday of next week. On the final exam day, only final timings will be given—absolutely no document testing will be given—NO EXCEPTIONS. Anyone who has missing documents or tests will earn a zero for any missing work.

If you cannot meet on the day the final is scheduled, it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to schedule a time with Linda Motonaga or David Janvelyan IN ADVANCE OF THE LAST DAY OF CLASS to complete your testing for your final timed writings. Check your e-mail for details on dates and times.

Some students think they can request an incomplete if they are not finished or are behind schedule. ABSOLUTELY NO INCOMPLETES WILL BE GIVEN FOR THIS REASON—NO EXCEPTIONS. Check Cell C1 for your grade to date. The timing speed entered in Row 7 is not necessarily the same net speed (3-error limit) you will earn when you take your final timings, but it is the best net speed you have earned to date on your skillbuilding. Your final timings will replace the speeds indicated in Row 7 when you take them this week or next. Late penalties are pending until the last day of class.

Never take an actual document processing test on campus until you have successfully completed the practice document processing tests! You will not be successful.

You will need to schedule a testing appointment with an Instructional Assistant. Click here for steps to schedule your on-campus test. I do not have to be there. Send me an e-mail message to confirm a time and date for the test.

You get only one chance at passing this test, so you want to be prepared. Bring your books with you.

bullet

It is your responsibility to send me an e-mail after you take your test so that I can grade it and send you the test results.

bullet

You must take your test this week or next week. If you haven't taken this test by the end of next week, an automatic 10% late penalty will be taken. For example, if you earned an A+ but the test was late, your grade would be lowered automatically to a B+.

bullet

If haven't evaluated your technique yet, you must e-mail me immediately. Remember that your technique must be acceptable in order to pass the class.

bullet

Absolutely no production tests will be given after the last day of class or on the day of the final examno exceptions!

Turn in your remaining skillbuilding lessons once a week (no later than Sunday evening each week) rather than one at a time.
From this point on, you will be focusing your efforts entirely on skillbuilding. Below are the goals for speed on a 3-minute timing with 3 errors or fewer:

A = 40+ w.p.m.

bullet

B = 35-39

bullet

C = 30-34
